Developing an Assessment Plan

Introduction

 

Whether you are planning for assessment practices in your department/school program or you are looking for resources on assessing student learning or program outcomes, you have found a valuable resource for the development of assessment plans at Illinois State University.

The purpose of this tutorial is to guide your initial efforts developing a program-level assessment plan. The information is offered in a clear, jargon-free manner with relevant examples from actual departments at ISU.

 

How to use the Tutorial

 

  1. The tutorial is organized into three sections: A) Overview, B) Assessment Plans, and C) Implementation.
  2. To provide additional guidance as you complete the tutorial, download the Assessment Plan Worksheet and keep it open in another window as you progress through the module. Throughout the tutorial you will be asked to draft examples (goals, outcomes, assessment methods, etc.) that will help you prepare an assessment plan for your program. **Be sure to save this document before closing.
  3. Lastly, please complete the Feedback Form at the conclusion of the tutorial so we can continue to improve our services.
